With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara on September 28, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 55 years to her husband Alfredo and cherished mother to her three daughters, Maryanne (Claudio Daniele), Susanne (Peter Sciberras) and Daniela (Daniel Corridore). Fiercely proud ‘nana’ of her 7 grandsons Myles, Nicolas, Emerson, Anthony, Julian, Vincent and Giacomo. Predeceased by her brother Giuseppe (Anna) Tulipano, Barbara leaves behind her siblings Assunta (Giuseppe Lico), Angelo (Mirella) Tulipano and Amedeo Tulipano. A cherished sister-in-law and Zia, she will be dearly missed by her in-laws, many nieces, nephews and their families. Barbara was a beautiful cousin and friend to so many near and far; they will hold their many memories together close to their hearts. Relatives and friends are welcomed to Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Tuesday October 1 from 2-4, 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bernard de Clairvaux Church (1789 Lawrence Ave. W., east of Jane St.) on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery (7241 Jane St., north of Steeles Ave.). In memory of Barbara, donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

I always admired your mother’s caring and selfless nature. She opened her heart and her home to my family from the first day we moved to our neighborhood. Even though she had enough grand kids to keep her busy, she opened her arms and treated my boys as part of your family. I will always cherish the time we spent together. I know she will be dearly missed. A mother is with us always, first in her lifetime, then forever in our memory. My deepest condolences to you all. From the Karathanasis Family
